The City Salute Appeal is designed to raise funds for Headley Court, the tri-service Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, which specializes in treating complex trauma. 

Money raised will be divided equally between:

• the Help for Heroes appeal for a new swimming pool and sports complex, needed for the provision of physiotherapy

• the SSAFA appeal for accommodation for families who need to stay close to loved ones being treated.

Fund-raising will take two forms.

Whilst city institutions are making major contributions, we know that you also want to show your support:

• To remember the servicemen and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice and paid with their lives in service to our country. 

• To help those young people who have lost limbs in theatres of conflict in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere.

• And to show our thanks to the professionals at places like Headley Court, for the outstanding work they do in rehabilitation.
